The core of our technology is WordPress, the open source content management system built by a global developer community. The CIIM middleware that drives our collections data layer is also open source.
90% of everything else we do is completely open, owned by our clients, or open source.
TMP is a hosted service, not software for installation. Our platform works on an ecosystem of interdependent software that all works together, backed up by our comprehensive hosting and support. We are Software as a Service, in the way that Dropbox and Google Docs are services. For these reasons we don’t (and can’t) sell TMP as software to install on your local systems.
Your content is yours
We recognise that your data and your content are yours, and that you’ve invested effort and resources in them both.
We support you in your ownership and control wherever we can, by choosing open formats, open protocols, and granting you all the rights that we can to the things that we produce for you, like designs and code.
These systems will be available to you for their natural lifespan, and you can leave TMP and use an alternative service instead, while preserving your investment in content, design and technology.
Our standard contract outlines how we realise our commitment to data transparency and openness:
- You always own your data: everything hosted by us still belongs to you
- Your data includes everything you build on our site: words, images and media
- You can have all your data in a transferable format, either annually or when we terminate a contract
- We don’t use proprietary plug-ins: all our third party plugins are open source.
- Your theme is yours: If we’ve built you a bespoke theme, that’s yours too including the code, and we can provide it for you in a GitHub repo.
This works for us, and for our clients. If you want to talk more about how it can meet your project requirements, get in touch.
